Save the tooth
Root Canal in Costa Rica: $350, Not $800.
A root canal removes infected tissue from inside the tooth so you can keep it instead of extracting it. Ours are performed by Dr. Allan Vargas, our endodontics specialist, usually in a single appointment.
When you need one
Signs a tooth is asking for help
- Lingering pain with hot or cold food
- Pain when chewing or touching the tooth
- A darkened tooth or swollen gum around it
- A deep cavity or an old crack reaching the nerve
Root canals are often part of a smile makeover: our makeover packages include up to 3 of them at no extra cost.
Common questions
Root canal FAQ
Does a root canal hurt?
The procedure is done under local anesthesia (Novocaine), so you feel pressure, not pain. Most patients say it feels like a long filling.
Will I need a crown afterward?
Usually yes. A treated tooth becomes brittle, and a zirconia or Emax crown ($450) protects it long term. Both are done here, within days.
How long does it take?
Typically one appointment of 60 to 90 minutes, with the crown a few days later if needed.
